Show Summary
Forget the price for a minute and look at what is actually being built. The CTO of the XRP Ledger Foundation is not hedging about it — “we are writing TradFi primitives into the XRPL.” The pieces are landing at once, and the question underneath them is what exactly they are building, and why XRP keeps turning up in the middle of it.
- RLUSD joins Spark’s Stablecoin FX Layer. A liquidity network that has processed more than $10 billion since launching on 25 June, now carrying RLUSD alongside PYUSD and USDT. The native stablecoin stays visible; the liquidity infrastructure underneath goes invisible.
- Flare’s first real memecoin experiment. Hold a million FCAT and trading fees pay you in FXRP every eight hours — 174 FXRP paid in the first two days, 110 wallets earning. Hugo Philion called it innovation without endorsing it, and so do we: unaudited contracts, unproven durability.
- XRP Healthcare is winding down. Three years, a listing process that never completed, and the September 3rd wallet incident. Jeff’s read: the idea was sound and the timing was not — nobody is paying for healthcare in crypto today, and HIPAA and BAA obligations make it expensive to find out.
- The CLARITY Act hits cloture on September 15 and needs 60 votes. There are 53 Republicans and three of them are no, which means ten Democrats or it never reaches the floor.
- Dennis Angell on what comes next for the ledger — agentic payments, payment channels for IOU tokens and MPTs, and a decade out, most transactions running automated.
- Geopolitics: Trump in Ireland calling the Irish “some of the most vicious bastards” and then pulling the tariffs off Irish whiskey; whether AI should slow down, with Anthropic, Musk and Altman saying pace it and Trump saying charge ahead; Putin on the West’s “systemic errors”; Canada, Sweden’s too-close-to-call election, and the deal signed in Cardiff to start breaking up the UK.

Earlier this week I said it would be interesting to see some memecoin innovation on Flare.

I’m going to call out things I see that are interesting.
The model here is: own at least 1M units of a memecoin and get paid in (F)XRP from trading fees generated by that memecoin.

XRP HEALTHCARE — OPERATIONAL WIND-DOWN
