The question this week isn't what XRP is worth — it's who controls the infrastructure when the financial system moves on-chain. Four pieces landed at once, and they all point the same way.

  • Ripple draws a line under “regulated.” Every issuer claims it. Ripple separates a money transmitter licence from a state trust charter from federal prudential supervision — three very different answers to the only question that matters, which Chip puts plainly: “What happens if it goes south?” RLUSD is built on the strictest reading — limited-purpose trust charter, segregated reserves, monthly independent CPA attestation, BNY Mellon as custodian, and a conditionally approved federal layer through Ripple National Trust Bank.
  • Clearpool is moving to the XRP Ledger. $965 million in loans originated, now proposing a treasury recapitalisation and a CPOOL→CLEAR migration to build institutional credit natively on XRPL — on top of the Single Asset Vault and Lending Protocol amendments, with RLUSD as the regulated settlement asset.
  • Ripple Treasury is embedding AI into the CFO's workflow. GSmart expands into what Ripple calls treasury-native AI: built into existing policies and workflows, deterministic financial logic, people still making the decisions.
  • Solana is building confidential transfers and batch functionality too. RippleX's Mayukha Vadari reads it as market confirmation that XRPL is on the right path rather than as competition.
  • Revolut handed customer data to a spoofed government request. Passports, verification selfies, account statements — no systems were hacked. The check everyone relies on is the one attackers forge.
  • Geopolitics: 9/11 at 25 and what New York has become, BRICS meeting in India to no particular effect, Tom Emmer on Somali gangs in Minnesota, the RNC midterm convention, and around the world — Birmingham, Burnham's North Sea delay, Le Pen's referendum, Carney's 41,000 lost jobs and tomorrow's Swedish election.
